As hard as it is to leave all of my family in Iowa - we are alwasy happy to get back to see The Merrills! Drew is used to seeing Grandma and Grandpa Merrill almost every day - so I am sure he was wondering where they were for the past week! I love to see him light up with he sees them.
Notice in the pictures that Steph and Ronnie are wearing shorts... yep, we went form sub-zero temps to mid 80s in a matter of a 3 hour flight.
As soon as we arrived we had to show off our new skills...

Walking next to the couch.... look at that big boy - one hand!
Cathy prepared a VERY yummy lasagna dinner - it hit the spot after feasting on pork, beef, mashed potatoes and corn for a week!
Steph really did spoil Drew this year! She got him TONS of adorable clothes and his new buddy Scout. Drew sure does love his Aunt Stephie!

Grandpa is so much fun -- I love sitting on his lap and laughing with him -- he thinks I am so funny :-)
It was very special to have Great Grandma Merrill there with us too. She might be 94 but she is sharp as a tack and a very wise woman. I love to hear her perspective on things -- she definitely knows what is going on at all times!

Can I help you, Great Grandma?

LOVE this shiny noisy paper!
We received some very thoughtful and much needed gifts from Ron, Cathy, Steph and Great Grandma Merrill... but having them here to help us with Drew is the greatest gift they can give. I have gotten to know each of them so much better this year and truly feel like I am now part of their special family. It amazes me still that a child can bring so much love in to the world.

"Hey Grandma - when can we go on our next stroller ride?"

Merry Christmas!
Ronnie's side of the family may not big in size - but what they don't have in numbers they make up for in love. It was a wonderful day - I sure do have some awesome in-laws and Drew has a GREAT family here in Florida!
