Apparently I skipped the month of May....

I've felt great - and nothing major to report. Had a day earlier this week where I had a lot of cramping and tightness, but the doctor said not to worry that it was likely just Braxton hicks and my body is getting ready. My next appointment is on Monday June 15th, so will get checked out. But other than that - all is good!
Now - on to my update and some thoughts on this "nesting" term that society uses to describe what mothers do during pregnancy to prepare their home for the baby. Well... that word sounds peaceful, right? I picture little birds making a perfect little next for the baby birds -- just chirping away happily tidying up all the little nest pieces that are need to make it nice little bed for their young.
While that might be similar to how I felt when I was pregnant with Drew - it's certainly NOT a description of how I feel this time around!
Nesting is a joke when preparing for the second! It's more like massive list making, dusting off the cob webs in your brain of what you need when, where you stored what, finding and hunting down what you stored, figuring out "how do I move those car seat straps down three notches??" Washing EVERYTHING because you are unsure if you packed it away in a frantic (there might be milk stains on things -- who knows?!!)
Oh - and trying to do all of this with a 3-foot monster chasing you around, tearing down every stack of clothes, pile of toys, disorganizing everything you just organized during his 90 minute nap that would take most people 4 hours to do - but because we are in super turbo mom speed, we got it done in 1 hour.
It's seriously a whirlwind of "to-dos"! There is something to be said about the first pregnancy. I've been calling it "pregnancy bliss" -- you don't know what you don't know. You prepare but you don't really know what you are doing -you are just following instructions from a friend, sister, book, ect. Bliss is easy - knowing what you are doing actually makes it more challenging!
With all of this madness, the good thing is that Drew is really understanding that "new baby" is coming soon. He talks about new baby, has gotten in "new baby's" carseat (below), bathtub, bouncy chair and has tried to put on "new baby's" shoes.
He is so sweet though - we were at the grocery store the other day and a lady had her little newborn baby with her. We stopped to chat with her and I asked Drew what we were going to do when "new baby" comes and he said "new baby hugs and kisses". I am SO excited for the new baby and just as excited to have drew be a big brother. He loves to "help" (which will totally backfire in most cases) but he has good intentions and I know he will be such a sweetie.
ONLY 6 MORE WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
