Long time no blog!
So what has Drew been up to??? Well, spring is in full swing which to some people means sunshine, flowers and rain showers... but to Drew it means one thing and one thing only: BASEBALL!
Obviously his daddy is all about baseball, but I promise we are not pushing this AT ALL. This kids just has it in his blood. He likes to watch it on TV and then copy what he sees. It has been SUCH a fun past couple months watching his new baseball tricks very day.
In additional to his love for the game, he also is talking up a storm and saying the most hilarious things ever, copying everything he hears and of course throwing his little mini tantrums when he has to come inside at the end of the evening.
We have a pretty good routine each night - basically when mommy gets home we eat dinner, then we go outside and go visit the neighbor's kitty cat, look for the red bird, pitch the ball, catch the ball or hit the ball (usually some combination of all three).

One of Drew's most favorite snacks is popcorn! They serve it at the club and whenever we make the turn to go there he starts saying "Popcorn? Drew get popcorn?" It amazes me that he knows his way around the neighborhood!
(Side note - he loves to talk in 3rd person)
There is a little train over at the outdoor mall that he loves to ride on. Another great phrase he says often "This is fun!"
Yep, that's right. The baseball bat is in the grocery store. Why not?
We love the park! He is also into "bugs" and "dwaagonfwies" (dragon flies)... we look for them at the park ever since he saw a spider web on one of the slides!
Out for ice cream on Mother's Day - sitting with one of his most favorite people - GWAAAMA!
So.... we have also learned this spring that we have quite the little courageous fish on our hands. After taking him to the pool for the first time with his floaties on and having him shoo me away when he jumped into the pool (he doesn't want to be caught, he wants to dunk under the water) we decided we better get this kid in some lessons.
This is a pic from the "Mommy and Me" swim lesson. Daddy is taking it.. he decided to go along and sit on the sidelines and watch. Drew is a little advanced for these lessons.. while the rest of the kids are trying to "get used to the water and the splashes", Drew is jumping in, throwing duckies and asking for mommy to do froggie jumps with him.
On Mother's Day I got the best gift ever -- Drew got an A+ in church! He was so good -- he must have got all of his spunkiness out that morning while "helping" mommy get ready.

Drew loves to swing - now we are in to underdogs and sometimes swinging on the big boy swing.
Note the shoes he has on in this picture. Loafers. We couldn't get him to wear these loafers for more than 5 minutes on Easter Sunday, but on Mother's Day he requested to wear them and then proceeded to wear them with every outfit (like play clothes) for the next 4 days.
Drew LOOOOOVES cake! This has been going on for quite a while. Grandma Merrill likes to make all different kinds of cakes and Drew knows just who to charm in order to get a piece... :-)
Look at that face! I just want to squeeze and kiss him every time I see this picture!
This video is going in the archives!
Since Drew watches Sports Center and loves the baseball highlights, he has now started copying them. Like this one.. it's his "Slide" and he is "Safe!"
| SAFE! |
| "Oh, so you brought your water too? That's cool." |
What else is Drew in to??
- SINGING! He loves to sing and must know about 15 songs. He's like a little mobile DJ all day long. You might get a remix of Itsy Bitsy Spider/Baah, Baah Black Sheep/Pat-a-Cake/Bumble Bee.... you just never know what is going through his head!
- Golf - when he isn't trying to hit, catch or pitch the baseball he is trying to hit a golf ball.
- Cleaning - he is still into standing on the stool and helping "clean"
- Helping. In general, he likes to "help mom?".... this can mean anything from carrying in a light bag of groceries (good help) to taking out all of the drinks from the drink fridge (bad help) Ha.
I can also tell you what he is NOT into... and that is consistently going poppy and pee pee in the potty!
He is also becoming quite the staller for his naps and at bedtime. We read books and more books, then we need water, then we need to go potty, then we need to sing... the list goes on. I didn't know they were this smart at this age!!!!
This little two year old is so full of love and such a sweet boy. We are so blessed that he is always to happy and is in great health! Ronnie and I often remind each other of how great we have it and how thankful we are that God has given us this amazing little person to raise... and the next one on the way.
Speaking of.. I am now 31 weeks. Feel GREAT and have another sonogram on Friday. Can't believe our family is going to grow to 4 in less than 10 weeks!!

I am so excited that there will be another Merrill baby SOON! Oh, and Parker also talks about herself in the third person, although she refers to herself as "Tarker". "Tarker's Turn!" "Tarker do that!" etc. We have to keep ourselves from calling her Tarker sometimes.
