Adventures with Mommy: Cousin Love

So last weekend I had a DZ reunion planned with my girlfriends from college - it started out as a quick weekend to go up and hang with the girls.  However, Aunt Wendy had a great idea for me to bring Drew up, meet her and leave him with her and the Weber boys for the weekend while I spent a couple days with my girlfriends in Minneapolis!  And to make it even MORE worthwhile, Grandma Lori took the day off too and drove up!

I have to admin though, I was a little skeptical at first because a 3 hour flight by myself with a very active 14 mo. old didn't sound appealing.  I have a hard time with him during a 60 minute Mass, the though of holding him on my lap for 3 times that long was SCARY!

We took an 8am flight so it was an early morning for us...
Hey mom - do we have to get on yet? And why do I still have my jammies on??

But Mr. Drew was such a good little boy for mommy!  We had lots of snacks, walked around on the plane, played with the little pretzel bags (great pastime just crinkling and shaking the pretzel bags)!  Who knew???

When we got in, Aunt Wendy picked us up and headed to Mall of America to have lunch and play at the indoor amusement park.  Drew and Luke took off together right away at Rainforest CafĂ©... between the thunder in the restaurant, the fish tanks and monkeys hanging from the ceiling these little boys had NO time to sit still!
We somehow snags them for a photo!

Ethan was such a good boy and Drew is obsessed with watching him.  Ethan is such a 'cool' older cousin!

Selfie with Aunt Katie!

Then mommy took off with her friends and Drew took off with his cousins. Apparently Drew and Luke became quite the buds -- Drew likes to hold hands and Luke likes to hug.  SO SWEET!

On Sunday morning I met them back at the airport and we headed back to Tampa.

I am sure Drew was pretty bored once we got home and he didn't have the excitement of the other boys...I was sad too :(  Miss my family and friends lots!  It is always so much fun to see everyone!

Easter 2014 - A day with many things to celebrate!

Better late to post than never, right??  We are 10 days late on this one - I don't know where the time and the revolving 'to-do' list goes...

Christ has Risen!  I love celebrating Easter - it is certainly a holiday that puts many things in life in to perspective.  Jesus died for us for our forgiveness of sins and to grant us eternal life.  What a reason to celebrate and also reflect on all the things that we are thankful for in our life here on earth.

We attended 8:30 mass at sat with Ron, Cathy and Aunt Steph.  Drew was a good boy during church - especially considering is was a 75 minute service!

Prior to heading to church - we did let Drew open his gifts from the Easter Bunny (mommy knew there was a least one little toy in there that might help make church a little easier :)

Most of his little gifts were from Walgreens and cost about $.99 and they were his favorite!  There was this little wind up bunny that he just LAUGHED AND LAUGHED at in the store... I had to get it.  Of course now he wants to throw it and dunk it in Sammy's water bowl...

First T-Ball set!
After church we went home for nap time (which really didn't happen) then over to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner and to celebrate mommy and grandma's birthdays!  Cathy's birthday is on April 20th, so it was ON Easter this year.  Very fun!

Hangin' with Aunt Steph!

Hey mom - I don't want to nap!  I want to play with Aunt Steph's ipad!

After all the birthday celebration, it was time to give Drew his first haircut!  He had been needing it for awhile, but it was like mission impossible trying to coordinate a time for Ronnie and I to be home at the same time and have enough daytime left for Grandma Merrill to get out her barber kit!

So calm...

'Grandma - do you have mirror so I can see my new 'do??'

Such a big boy!

We put him in the high chair and Grandma got to work!  He looks like SUCH a big boy now!  Also, ever since the haircut I have noticed when he goes over to my drawer in the bathroom and pulls out my comb that he tries to comb his hair.  SO CUTE (I need to get it on video!)

Happy Easter everyone!
